AIRLINES: New York Officially Adds Fourth Airport
1/26/2007 -
New York City will soon add a fourth airport to its current Kennedy/LaGuardia/Newark system. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey decided this week to purchase the remaining years of the operating lease for Stewart International Airport near Newburgh, N.Y. (about 60 miles from Manhattan). The port authority will take over operations by October, potentially offering more flight options for travelers in the region.
