U.S. Airlines Will Remain on High Alert
U.S. airlines will remain on high alert after the recent airline terrorist plot in London, America’s homeland security chief said yesterday. They must now follow tougher security guidelines, including renewed enforcement of requirements to turn over passenger names to be checked against the government’s “no fly” terror watch list. This policy may affect your clients who happen to dash to airline ticket counters for last-minute boarding on international flights. You should advise your clients to allow three to four hours before boarding the first leg of any international flights for this reason. Officials also said they’re considering making permanent the new rules banning liquids and gels from carry-on luggage and forcing passengers to remove their shoes at airport security checkpoints.
